Student Council

The Student Council is the elected body representing students, provided for by Decree No. 132/03 of the President of the Republic from Article 17 of the Statute of the Italian Academy of Art Fashion Design.
It is composed of three elected members, ensures students' constant participation in academic life, the cultural growth of the Institution, and promotes integration and intercommunication among students, including through the organization of para-institutional activities, events and demonstrations.

The Council's term is three years and, in addition to expressing the opinions provided for in the Statute and regulations, it can address requests and make proposals to the Academic Council with particular reference to the educational organization and services for students, working in collaboration with the institution's staff for the smooth running of courses, with the aim of fostering a constructive and responsible climate, with a view to achieving the educational objectives established for each academic year. The Student Council was established following the reframing of Higher Education in Art and Music, with the aim of empowering and involving the student body in the active life of the Academy. The Consulta was created and addressed first and foremost to the students, who elect its members, compose it and participate in it through student assemblies. The Consulta is heterogeneous in the diversity of its members, offers listening and direct participation in every address of the Academy, is transparent and operates solely for the interests of students.

The Council appoints a representative to the Board of Directors and the Academic Council. The Academic Council is the true center of the Academy, from which all decisions pertaining to the organization and planning of the activities of the institution itself flow. The student component in the Council plays a fundamentally important role, and students have a real opportunity to influence and contribute to the smooth functioning of the institution. The task of the Council representative should be to take an active interest and participation in the life of the Academy, being a spokesman for the demands of the student body.
