Beyond the capture

The partnership between Accademia Italiana and Studio Marangoni was born from the intersection of creativity and education. Based in Florence, Studio Marangoni is a renowned training institute where photography meets art and professional practice. Its intense exhibition activity, an integral part of the educational path, guides students through a continuous process of experimentation.

The partnership has taken shape through two specialized workshops: the darkroom course, led by Professor Letizia Francini Naldi with first-year students of the Bachelor's Degree in Photography, and the fine art printing workshop, conducted by Professor Gianluca Piovesan with second-year students of the Master’s Program in Photography. These immersive experiences have allowed participants to refine their technical and artistic skills through a hands-on and direct approach.

An additional interdisciplinary project between fashion and photography has also emerged from this collaboration. Third-year students of the Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design, under the guidance of Professor Cecilia Rinaldi, will have the opportunity to curate styling within the framework of the Fashion Photography short course organized by Studio Marangoni. This synergy will offer young designers a valuable opportunity to engage with the world of professional photography, allowing them to develop cross-disciplinary skills and collaborate actively with photographers and creatives. The project may also become an integral part of their final project or thesis.

As part of the partnership, students will have the opportunity to attend two exclusive events: the first one will be held on Saturday, March 22, at 10:00 AM, the "Magnum Photos & Fashion - Collaborations with the Fashion and Luxury Industry" conference will take place at the fsmgallery. Students from Accademia Italiana and Studio Marangoni will be able to participate in this discussion, which will explore the connection between the fashion industry and photography, featuring representatives from Magnum Photos, one of the most prestigious photography agencies worldwide.

This collaboration represents a strategic initiative for both institutions, aiming to create synergies between different disciplines and promote the development of advanced skills that can provide students with valuable and practical tools for their professional future.
